Capital Equipment Network was born from a simple frustration: watching scientists, engineers, and technical people, waste time searching for equipment without knowing what was available or where to find it.
Our founders, experienced in academia, industry, and tech, recognized that the problem wasn't a lack of equipment—it was a lack of visibility and accessibility. Governments, academia, research institutes, and industry, have invested billions in state-of-the-art instruments, but there was no comprehensive way to know what existed, where it was located, or how to access it.
We set out to build the platform we wished had existed: a mobile-first solution that would make finding research equipment as easy as searching for anything else online. Starting with a comprehensive proprietary database of facilities and equipment worldwide, we now provide users with instant access to instruments across 50+ countries.
